Aircraft De-icing
This is the only item of GSE that is has a direct effect on aircraft performance and hence safety. De-icers are also, and uniquely, usually one of the most expensive items on the ramp but have the least amount of use. These two apparently contradictory aspects of de-icers neatly sum up this item of GSE that generally financial managers and operators dislike having to provide but pilots, quite correctly, demand. If the idea is accepted that all GSE is merely a tool to support the aircraft then it needs to be kept simple to build, use and maintain and therefore provide the lowest cost of ownership possible. In response to this idea Falcon Aviation have developed DEICERplane as a low cost solution to aircraft de-icing. With to date some 20 satisfied customers in the UK and Europe, we believe that we have bought a true low-cost, high quality, rapid deployable solution to this aspect of ramp equipment.
